video of the water ballon wars (from June 12th)

Dad here,

I've been wanting to post a short video of the water balloon fight we had a few weekends ago. I finally got the chance to do so...

Jacob's Present from Unkie Jude

This was a University of Houston shirt from Unkie Jude. I let Jacob wear it even though his mama is an Aggie.

Sassy is being so patient and very polite. She wants that bagel no doubt but she did not try to snatch it from Jacob's hand.

NASA Contractor-Company Picnic

Tony was eager to show off the boys in these shirts at his NASA contractor company picnic.

A Picture Diary of Matthew and Jacob's Weekend

Yesterday Tony and I took the boys to the Sunflower Festival in Angleton. Is this crazy with it being in the upper 90's? Yes... but we still had fun when we weren't sweating and looking for shade. We got there at 9:30AM and left at 11:30 when we got our fill of the hot weather. I am not quite sure why Jacob is making that face.

We went in the tractor train. Matthew rode once and then we decided to let Jacob ride. Jacob could not ride alone and since my legs are shorter than Tony's I got the honors of riding with Jacob. Also, if you remember Tony had his turn from Dewberry Farm two years ago with Matthew. I just barely fit my butt in the bucket train. Luckily, we didn't need the "jaws of life" to get me out. My snug fit was motivation to fore go eating a funnel cake.

Matthew got a chance to sing and dance on the stage with Tom's Fun Band. Like his Unkie Jude, Matthew loves the stage. I always thought that Jude would do well singing kids' songs for festivals like this.

Matthew also got to try this new adventure sport, water walking in the bubble. He had a hard time keeping his balance at first but then he got the hang of it. I was proud of him. I think many older kids also discovered that walking in the huge "hamster" ball is harder than it looks.

On Sunday, we went to Tony's company picnic. I thought that the heat would make it miserable but we really had a good time. There were two shaded playgrounds to entertain Matthew and Jacob. They wore their matching astronaut shirts. We enjoyed the conversation with other adults and the great food.

Since we were not allowed to use the water balloons at the picnic we had a little "war" in the back yard when we got home. The water balloons were difficult to pop. They did not burst on impact so we had to be inventive.
